Hello, faithful reader. I know you’ve been clamoring for an update on the bet that we have running with The Big Lead regarding the fortunes of a few small market clubs. Remember, in order for me to win the bet, only one of these three teams needs to be above .500. So without further ado, a standings update and some notable games coming up:

A’s 25-23 (2nd place, 3 GB of LAA)-3 against the Red Sox, Angels and Tigers

Marlins 26-19 (1st place)-6 against Tampa and 6 against Philadelphia

Rays 27-20- (2nd place, 2 GB)-3 against Boston, 3 against the Angels, 6 against the Marlins

Looking ahead, the Rays have 31 games left and need only go 13-18 through July 1st. The A’s need to go 15-15. The Marlins need to go 16-21. I like my chances.

Side note: The Marlins only have only two days off between now and June 30th. If they’re struggling down the stretch, the could spiral out of control. Still like my chances though.
