If someone sends you an email claiming they were mistreated at a charity game when they tried to get Muhammad Ali’s autograph and was physically and verbally assaulted by the head coach of a Division I baseball team, sirens should go off in your head. And those sirens should not be the kind that say, “we need to post this shit right now!” Alas, Deadspin went in the opposite direction and gave Pat Murphy the “worst coach in the world title” only to retract it a day later.
The reasons the sirens should go off is because they involved the following phrases or buzzwords:
- Grown man who still collects autographs: this one’s a no brainer. If an autograph hound is involved, I don’t care if the guy has video of Pat Murphy holding him down while a security guard teabags him, I’m taking the side of Pat Murphy. Adult autograph hunters are the worst people in the world. Even worse than Nazis.
- Muhammad Ali doesn’t really do the autograph thing anymore what with his crippling Parkinson’s and all. Maybe we might give the people who are trying to prevent this asshole from busting the Champs balls the benefit of the doubt?
- ASU security? The event was at Scottsdale Stadium. I turned down tickets because I had to hang out with Grandma. ASU has jurisdiction at Packard Stadium I guess but they have about as much authority in Scottsdale as the Emancipation Proclamation prior to the end of the Civil War.*
In summation, what the fuck is going on at Gawker anymore?
*History burn!

yeah, and whats up with no afternoon blogdome? fuck nuts.

I learned in Ghostbusters that you’re not supposed to cross the memes…or was it streams? Either way, there’s no Stay Puff Marshmallow Man around so easy with the polarity.

I think I already posted this on this site, but I met Ali when I was 4 and stuck on a grounded plane during a blizzard. He was super cool to me even though he was already starting to go frail. From everything I hear about him now, he’s still very good with children and very gracious with his time. Should fire up a red light on this story for Deadspin right there.
Regardless, does this open up some issues regarding fact-checking in blogs? Does the ombudswoman have something to say about this?
Shh…the ombudswoman has been napping for the past 6 months and we’re not sure if it’s safe to wake her up.
Personally, I prefer the current model that allows us to say whatever the hell we want without any repercussions.

Is she still passed out from hitting the bong after her weed post?
i really have to think gawker makes some kind of move before deadspin hits an irreversible tail spin…but then i remember nick denton runs the show.
2 out of 3 aint bad for a blogger
Luckily, NickP personally fact checked every word of his Reds Rainbow Coalition post.
I doubt NickP would write a post about how gay the Reds are…
I finally had something funny to say, and I fucked it all up. Take away my Jew Stars.
I guess we’ll have to keep holding our breath for the big moment to finally arrive.
i was just reading the about mlj and ran across this.
