Yesterday, the Pittsburgh Pirates ruined baseball by trading Nyjer Morgan and Sean Burnett to the Nationals for Lastings Milledge and Joel Hanrahan. Now, as players, they are all OK to shitty. But for aesthetics, no one looks better in a baseball uniform than Nyjer Morgan. What the Pirates have done to Baseball should be lambasted for all time. They have taken a man, who wears that uniform with class and excellence and traded him to a team that wears the Yugo of baseball uniforms. For Shame.
The Pirates are a terrible baseball organization. Awful. But their uniforms are classic. The way Nyjer wore the black and gold was to be commended. The sleeveless home uniform. He wore the hat with no bend to the brim and slightly askew. He wore his socks calf high. He had stirrups. The man rocked stirrups. Now we will never see the greatness of Nyjer rocking a classic uni ever again.
The Nationals are a terrible franchise. Terrible. With rotten baseball uniforms. They have like a million of them. Their home uni is red and white. But some asshole decided not to copy the classic script from the old Senators and go with this Ben Hur-esque hideous Gold blocked lettering. It is a disaster. It doesn’t even match the classic Red hat and white W. Their alternate jerseys shit as well. Either solid red with the script W or solid blue with the big block DC on the side. Hell, the blue has a Red/white/blue DC. Fuck. You want Nyjer to look good in that? Fuck you Washington. You can’t even get your uniforms spelled correctly. If I were the Nats, for the good of baseball, trade Nyjer to the Dodgers or Giants or Cardinals or Red Sox or Yankees. Any team that would let Nyjer represent classic baseball uniforms correctly. Rawlings should hire Nyjer as their pitchman. He is just a thing of beauty to watch. In a uniform. Playing? Meh. But in a uniform. Top notch.
To the Pirates, I give you this advice. Lastings Milledge will show talent. He will suck too. But more importantly, he will look like he has some flair. But he really doesn’t. The man dresses like this.
