Starting tomorrow. As for today, none of you are really around. You all drank heavily. You all watched fireworks. You all continued to drink heavily. And you also ate some BBQ. I expect a little more of that today. There are always leftovers and floaters in the cooler that need attending too. I hope you enjoy that.
As some of you may know, Steve McNair was killed yesterday on what appears to be a murder-suicide. He was dating a 20 year old girl, apparently behind his wife’s back. Something happened and he got shot up and then she shot herself. It sucks for fans of McNair. It really sucks for his family and kids. I have nothing more to add to that except he went out in a very shitty way. He gets killed by some crazy bitch and he gets caught cheating on his wife all at the same time. It is embarrassing and sad.

Serena Williams beat Venus Williams 7-6 6-2 to win Wimbledon: Watching these two yesterday got me thinking, how many times do we get to see two siblings be so good at the same sport? Usually it is one great one and one shitty one, like Hank and Tommy Aaron. Or John and Patrick McEnroe. Or they are both kinda mediocre, like Bret and Aaron Boone. But the Williams sisters are both just phenomenal. Serena is better but Venus isn’t far off. Serena has the superior power game, Venus plays serve and volley. Serena owns the hard courts. Venus has made grass courts her specialty. It is 11-10 Serena All-Time when the two play each other. Serena has 11 career Grand Slam singles titles. Venus has 7. They have won 9 Doubles Grand Slam Titles together. It is pure dominance. And they are rarely ranked number 1 because they don’t play the full tour. It is always some European girl who falls apart once a Williams sister lines up across court from her. I don’t know why I have devoted more words the the Williams sisters as opposed to Steve McNair but I will admit I am impressed with them.
