According to our favorite junior detective, the Marlins are making a trade for Padres closer Heath Bell. This is a great deal for the Marlins who instantly get one of the better relief pitchers on their roster for no money whatsoever. It looks like they’re giving up Andrew Miller and Sean West in return.
Does this mean the Marlins think they have a shot at either the division or the Wild Card? Personally I don’t see them as having a shot at either since they’d have to leapfrog four teams but they do play in the worst division in the NL so maybe they have a shot.
