Who watched the Manny Ramirez debut last night? I saw some highlights but I didn’t actually watch it. I did follow it online though because I wanted to see how Manny Parra, former big leaguer for Milwaukee who was sent down because he couldn’t find the strike zone, would do against ManRam. He struck him out in his first AB and got a ground ball to short in the second AB. After the game, Manny Ramirez said absolutely nothing. The final score of that game was who cares.
Some other scores from around baseball:
Red Sox 11, Nationals 3: The Nationals fans came out in full effect last night to see their favorite team, the Boston Red Sox play in the new stadium. A record setting crowd of 41,517 was on hand to witness the beatdown by the Sox. They also got to witness this tight play by the gritty Nick Green. No, it really says “gritty” in the title of the video. Poor guy is going to be hit with the David Eckstein label just because he’s small, white and isn’t very talented. Boston fans will embrace him for the very same reason.
Cubs 4, Detroit 5: I never understood why Chicago wanted Kevin Gregg. He throws 98 but they’re meat. The hang over the plate and don’t move. Last night, he blew his 3rd save of the season. He gave up a ninth inning blast to Ryan Rayburn with a man on base. The Cubs received a homer in the eighth inning by Micah Hoffpauir to put them up 4-3. Detroit has now won 5 baseball games in a row, but lost many in a row in the game of life.
Rockies 3, Angels 4: The Rockies finally lost again. This was only their second loss in 19 games. Even after this stretch of winning, they still sit 10 games back of the Dodgers in their division. Troy Tulowitzki had two home runs and all 3 RBIs. Juan Rivera homered for the Halos and Bobby Abreu singled with the bases loaded in the eighth to score the final 2 runs. Former Rockies reliever Brian Fuentes got the save.
Twins 7, Brewers 3: Milwaukee continues to slide and they do it by making errors on easy plays. Jeff Suppan had to record 4 outs in the first after striking out some asshole who reached because Kendall can’t block a curve ball. Some another asshole, presumably a Canadian, then hit a 3 run homer. The Twins have now won all 4 games played against Milwaukee this season.
Indians 5, Pirates 4: Do these two baseball teams hate each other like the football teams do? Probably not, since the Pirates are pretty much the “small kid” from your neighborhood who everybody liked, if only because they felt bad for him. Good news for Indians fans, Grady came back and went 2 for 5 with a triple. Also, it looks like if you give the bullpen a 5 run lead, they can get their job done. Last night, they let 4 Pirates cross the plate in the ninth before getting that last out. David Huff pitched 8 scoreless innings for the Tribe.

I don’t get it. If it is the game(singular) of life how can you lose many in a row?
/evony is free forever
he aint half bad.
The title of last night’s post should have been “Under The Lights: I’m Not Sure What Any Of Our Ads Mean”
Oh before I forget, a quick shout out to my buddy C.T. Ads. What’s up, Homie?
looks like i missed an epic night in mlj history last night. really need to think about getting this interwebs thing at my house.
He’s not small. He’s like 6 feet, 180 lbs. Eckstein is approx. 5′3″ 104 lbs. You’re racist.
/also Nick Green is gonna be good…better than Jeter even
About 5,000 of those were Nats fans, 36,000 were Sox fans.
