Yes, I have a mancrush on Jay Cutler.
Yes, I think the Bears are FOOLS for trading for him.
This isn’t an indictment on Cutler whatsoever, it’s an indictment on the shitty ass Bears offense that has no business putting a diamond in the middle of that shit pile. QB’s are the most dependent players on the field at all times, and without ANY help, either from personnel or the coaching staff (seriously, Ron Turner sucks, why is he employed?), Cutler has no chance at all to succeed, no matter his outrageous talent.
The Bears’ OL SUCKS, Orlando Pace or not. Their WR corps SUCKS, with MATT FUCKING FORTE being their leading pass catcher and the only other threat is non-blocking TE Greg Olsen and one-trick-pony Devin Hester. They have a decent rushing attack with Forte, but what good is that without any quality targets?
“But they’ll get targets with their draft picks!!”
You mean the ones they gave away to Denver?
This is different. If the Jets (gay), Redskins or Vikings make this move, I love it, even if it involves two firsts. See, those teams already have a little offensive talent around them and at least SOMETHING for Cutler to make happen with. Plus, those teams are in contention for something more than just a first round exit, which is what the Bears are looking at even if they do win the shitty NFC North.
The Bears? No, they don’t have that. They have nothing.
Now, I’m not a fan of this trade from Denver’s perspective either. Franchise QB’s, something Cutler was unquestionably in my opinion, don’t grow on trees. There’s not a franchise QB in this draft outside of Matt Stafford, and I really doubt he’ll fall. So rumor has it that Denver is going to package some shit, blah blah blah, for Mark Sanchez, the pussy armed fag boy from Souther Cal who has a WHOPPING 16 starts to his name.
Either that or get some defensive help…except for the fact that this draft sucks and you’re stuck with either an undersized OLB for a 3-4, which is what Denver will be switching to. That’s fine and dandy except that every 3-4 OLB in this draft has about a million question marks and none look like the sure things DeMarcus Ware and Shawne Merriman were.
Tho, the funny thing is, Kyle Orton will probably RAWK in McDaniel’s “system,” so they got that going for them.
But back to the Bears.
Why would you give up that much when you have so many other holes to fill on that side of the ball? Yes, QB is a need, but what good is a stud QB when it’ll take at least two years to get anyone decent around him, and that’s assuming you nail your remaining picks. This is a losing proposition for the Bears. The Bears just stuffed a potato in the barrel of their cannon.
But are you surprised? This is one of the shittiest run organizations in the NFL. There’s no plan for the future, no system where they can find immediately, guys who can contribute. They have a shitty coach, a shitty GM and shitty ownership, and it sucks because I really like the Bears, their fans and Soldier Field. I WANT the Bears to be good.
However, this trade won’t pay off anytime soon.

He won’t be for long. Cutler doesn’t like him from when Turner was at Illinois and pulled Cutler’s scholarship offer late in the recruiting process. And I think we all know Cutler holds grudges.
It was a good deal because the dumbasses in the bears front office are retarded and can’t draft for shit.
/Bears fan’d
//sweet picture
///now that this is over, what are you going to write about?
Allelujah Spencer!
Agree 100%
SG will be by shortly to tell you to stick to your day job.
triston…hopefully. turner blows.
This wasn’t supposed to happen until American Idol is over.
baseball!!!
What happens in two years when you build and have a shitty quarterback? Cutler will be 27. This move makes sense, you will always needs a top QB. Now they have one and can start building around him. If Cutler were 30, I am against it. He is 25. This move is the right move, an stop looking at 2009..look at 2010, 11 12 and so on.
roman…who’s to say he doesn’t bitch his way out of chicago too?
and you put a lot of faith into a suspect front office.
I didnt even read this shit. But Spencer you suck balls. and I hope you get raped by a Bear. THIS IS COMING FROM A CLEVELAND SPORTS FAN. What a joke.
/Cleveland has AIDS!
I like the trade for the Broncos, pick up some help on the DL and secondary with those picks and trade a couple of them for Julius Peppers, who wants to play in a 3-4. (If the Panthers aren’t trying to work something with the Broncos at this very second, I will personally ride over to Charlotte and yell profanities at Hurney and Fox.)
Orton will be a fine QB in McDaniels offensive system–he can throw a mid-range crossing pattern, can’t he? I don’t see why the Broncos can’t go 7-9/8-8 (terrific for the craptacular AFC West) and push 10 or 11 wins in 2010.
When was the last time Spencer was right about anything!?
Was Orton really shitty? I mean in prior years he had been, but considering what he had to work with, he had a pretty good 2008.
Who believes Cutler will still be a Bear after his contract is up? Are they going to pay him the money he will demand? Bus Cook will have Cutler play in Pakistan if the money is right.
Indians > Methsox???
Who is to say that this is the same coach and GM in ten years? Who is to say that Shanahan is not the Coach in 2010? Lots of things can happen in 10 years. To me there are two constant players for 10 to 15 years. A top QB and a top LT everything else is 5-7 year bursts because of wear and tear. And for an inept Front office, I think they made a good move. And this same group but a Super Bowl team together 3 years ago.
not to toot my own horn, but i’ve picked 3 tournament winners on the pga tour so far this season.
im a fucking expert, lawya.
Oh, and every Vikings fan should be in a rage right now. If the Vikings make this deal they are immediately an elite NFC team.
bingo.
I’m not in a rage. I would have been pissed if they would have given up two #1s, Rosenfels and a third. Now a 1&3 or a 1 and Rosenfels and we’d talk.
Granted, two #1s is a heavy price. But adding Cutler puts the Vikings on the short list for Super Bowl contenders, doesn’t it?
I still say Campbell to the Lions, Cutler to the Skins, and picks from both teams would be the best offer.
This means nothing since golf is gay
/until I get my xbox fixed then Im gonna get Tiger Woods ‘10
Agreed Rick.
It would get them up there, but being without a #1 pick for three years would be a painful trade off.
I just had this conversation with a co-worker:
Him: So, what’s your take on getting Cutler?
Me: Thumbs up I guess.
Him: I spoke to a guy on the phone who has three Cutler jerseys. He says the guy is the real deal.
You hear that? A guy with THREE Cutler jerseys says he’s the real deal. Not two jerseys or only one. Fucking THREEVE. If that doesn’t get you pumped up, nothing will. Go Bears.
THREEVE!!! Hes got to be the real deal. But Roman has like five Ron Dayne jerseys so the jury is out.
spencer, you’re better than this.
/shanahan sucks
sparty…hoosiers sucked.
Tampa, you have five Benson jerseys, plus a Craig Krenzel.
But none of you has an Alex Smith jersey. Oy.
i have tim couch and courtney brown jerseys.
hoosiers did suck. Remember the Titans was better than that.
Rick I almost open fire on a Elementry School when Benson was drafted. This is why Im glad we got Cutler.
So you still admit to owning a Krenzel jersey?
according to the tourney. it does.
I’m surprised you didn’t have a bonfire with them Spencer.
This doesn’t sound fun.

1. CBH, I’ve had a discussion with spencer over e-mail about this situation. At least when he makes a point, he explains himself. You write one comment in passing and can’t even provide an explanation for why you feel that way.
2. I could understand ripping on Cutler for this move and saying he’s going to be unhappy because he’s now stuck on a shitty offense. But you can’t shit on the Bears for making a great move to improve their team.
3. Since when are draft picks nothing more than a gamble? How can you sit here and justify ONE PICK this year and another next year will guarantee the Bears a trip to the playoffs?
Sorry Sportsgal, when someone says FUCK YOU I tend to tune them out, rather than want to get in a discussion with them.
SG dont for get to bring up how many first round picks the Browns have had that were actually Relevant*.
*The new browns not anyone on the team that move to Baltimore where they won a Super Bowl
if we were talking about sodomizing someone, you’re opinion would be valid.
go fuck a knife.
cbh, I looked through the comments yesterday and didn’t tell you to fuck off. I told you to stick to your day job and told the general public to shut the fuck up, but whatever. And you must not do a very good job of tuning me out if you’re bring up something I said in passing a day later.
SG, you’re frustrating as fuck.
