Today is Opening Day. What happened last night counted but it is not the Opener. Opening Day is supposed to take place at 1:00 U.S. Standard Time in Cincinnati. And not because my Mets are playing there. It was always the case that the true Opener happened in Cincy. The first Professional Baseball Team is the Cincinnati Reds and the first game should always be in their ballpark. Think about it. The Bunting. The Marching Band. The nice Reds uniforms (except in the 80’s, Pete Rose squeezing into those bad boys was horrific.) I mean John McSherry dropped dead behind home plate at the Opener in Cincinnati. Why? Because the excitement of being part of the true Opening game in all of baseball made his heart a flutter. That and lots of high Cholesterol food.
So Fuck Sunday night (even though a Phillies loss is always good, a Braves win sucks balls). Fuck this Opening in Japan every other year . Let us Open the season in it’s rightful place. Cincinnati. Truthfully, they are only known for two things, Opening Day and….

…being the “Queen” City. Please don’t snow and Let’s Go Mets.

I hope the Mets lose today.
Spencer, you out there? Can I get your email, need some golf advice.
I hope you’re wrong.
In the name of Bernard Gilkey, let’s go Mets.
@rek: I hope you’re wrong about my being wrong.
I hope Kevin Youkoulis gets caught with a underage dude.
CBH- I can tell you right now what his advice will be. “Smoke some Tree”
Tampa, while normally I would appreciate that advice it won’t help me in my Master’s pool.
I love Opening Day. I haven’t miss a Brewers home opener since 2001, until this year. For my friends sake, I hope the weather is nice.
Stigs its not. Its snowing.

If it’s a Masters pool, then I’ll bet he says “Take Sergio”.
I’d say it’s a pretty nice looking day in Milwaukee. Just a little cold:

Brewers are on the road til Friday dickbags. Actually, Tampa’s a dick. Hawkeye seems nice.
Good piece, Rome. And I agree with you: the Reds DO have the best uniforms in MLB.
