Let me start this off by saying Ed Werder is a fucking douchebag. Despite the fact that he’s comes off as objective, he’s not. Werder has an obvious agenda against TO, just like Sal Paolantonio, another ESPN douchebag “reporter,” and nothing you hear come from his mouth should be trusted. Let me also state that I’m not objective in this matter either…I’m a huge TO fan and want the Eagles contracted from the NFL because of the way they treated one of my favorite players.
That said…this is another case of TO getting the boot because of a team not willing to admit that their QB is a piece of shit. Everyone is going to point to TO’s declining stats, which is semi-relevant, but not at the fact that Tony Romo either didn’t look TO’s way when he was open or, when he did target TO, he forced the ball into tight coverages despite a weak arm or simply flat out threw a shitty pass.
“Wow, Spencer, it sure sounds like you’re giving TO a huge pass here.”
It’s because I am.
Now, I realize that he’s an egomaniac and can be a divisive locker room presence, but that shit is ESPN-manuctured bullshit that has, literally, NO bearing on how well a team plays. Let me let you in on a little secret…there are assholes as big as TO on almost every single team in the NFL, from the Pats to the Bengals, but you don’t see Ed Werder giving mustache rides to every one of those stories do you?
If I told you that you could have a WR that might be the most well-conditioned athlete in the NFL, who works his ass off on the field and the film room, who is one of the smarter WR’s in terms of technique and route running and will require two defenders every time he steps on the field, would you be interested? Of course you would be. But because ESPN has shoved the “TO is the devil” story down our throats, pretty much every fan thinks he’s some malignant tumor.
And throughout all of this, shitty ownership and QB play has gone blameless. The 49ers were at the genesis of their journey into shit-dom when they decided to let TO go and Jeff Garcia banging dudes probably didn’t help. The Eagles are just a cold hearted machine, and frankly, seeing them lose in heart breaking fashion seems just, not to mention the fact that McNabb’s butthole puckered up to Jim Tressel NC Game levels whenever a game got tight. And does anything more need to be said about Jerrah, Wade and that fraud Tony Romo?
I understand he drops a few balls, and that’s a legit knock. But it’s not enough to overcome his competitiveness and drive to win, something that Tony Romo MOST CERTAINLY doesn’t have, but yea, he’s the bad guy for criticizing his teammates. Wait…SHOULDN’T THAT FAT FUCK COACH BE DOING THAT? Shouldn’t Steve Mariucci and Andy Reid have done that in his previous stops?
It’s annoying to see someone get lambasted like this, especially when on the field, throughout his career, he’s probably in the top 10 WR’s of all time. But everyone focuses on this extracurricular BULLSHIT that doesn’t have a fucking thing to do with how a team plays on the field. You know who else was a massive asshole? Michael Jordan. MJ probably pissed off more teammates than anyone in NBA history, but he played a sport that wasn’t dependant on some over-hyped, media fellated ’star’ like Tony Romo so he could overcome that.
WR is a position dependent on the QB…and throughout TO’s career, he’s been saddled with QB’s who weren’t as good as the ink devoted to them said they were. As I’m sure Roman is going to say in the earlier post (I’m writing this as he’s writing his), he won’t want TO because of all the personality things and how the Giants are a “model organization” or some other complete bullshit like that. And I agree, though not because of that, but because Eli is a shitty QB who won’t live up to TO’s standards and it’ll fall apart.
Think about it real world applications…if you busted your ass and was the best employee you could be, but when it came time to actually perform a coworker who you depended on, fucked up big time because he wasn’t prepared and didn’t work as hard…you’d be pissed too right? Now imagine if that happened over and over again, and your boss didn’t say shit to him about it, and everyone who cared about said project pointed the finger at you. That’d make me a little crazy too.
All I’m asking is that TO get a fair shake, which he’s not. Yes, he has his flaws, like 100% of the human population, but you know what? He’s not nearly as bad as Fag Werder and Fag Paolantonio want you to believe he is. They’re not good reporters. They’re not objective. The shit they report has stained a potential Hall of Fame career, and while TO is a little nutso, he’s still one of the better WR’s in the game. Some team is going to sign him to a really low contract and they’re going to get one of the fiercest competitors in the NFL who can still ball…and I hope to fucking God it’s the Redskins because nothing would make me happier than seeing TO play in Dallas, Philly and New York every season and rape those fucking smug, bitch fans.
And fuck you, because I know you don’t agree…TO is the best.

too bad the Browns are trying to get “character” guys now. Fuck that. I don’t care if guys are nice and say please and thank you to the assistant to the traveling secretary. He’s a freakish talent. Deal with it.
I can see the Patriots signing him. Just think…the original freak AND TO?
You bitch about all his shitty QB’s and want Jason Fucking Campbell throwing him balls to get back at the NFC East? Are you kidding? Wouldn’t you want to put this great wide out who is a piss poor run blocker, gives up on routes when the ball is not going his way, drops wide open touchdowns and is aging..he is 35 and lost a step last year…on a team with a QB up to his level? Is there a guy good enough for the great TO?
Judging from that picture TO does get the shaft.
I’d like to see him in San Diego in those baby blues.
/I have a sick TO mancrush mostly because our abs are very similar and I respect a man who works out as much as I do
and enjoys it
I forgot to add: nttatwwt
yo spencer! check yo email!
sparty…checked.
Campbell might not be so bad if he didn’t have midgets to throw to.
CBH hes serviceable but I know the ’skins want results today and for that to happen he is clearly no the answer.
i agree with this post 100%. TO knows a truly great QB when he sees one.
/”I would love to play with Brett Favre,” said TO.
//paraphrased
The last playoff game that Owens was on the field for a win, Steve Young was the QB. Bill Clinton was the President. The Dow was higher than it is today. And Owens had actual fans, rather than people who fail to get that stats lie, and fantasy football is a fun game and all, but not really conducive to winning real world games.
I’m looking forward to his time in Raiderland.
last playoff game, blah blah blah…
if you don’t think TO was, and can still be, dominant, you’re fooling yourself.
