Brandon WorkmanYesterday I had the chance to put some ribs on the grill and I must admit they came out quite fantastically. I meant to take a picture of my handiwork. but I didn’t get a chance. So, sorry about that. Anyway, I heard that it was real cold around the rest of the States, and for that I’m sorry. I had a rib for you, and I mean that.

Please note: I didn’t see any of these events except for the 9th inning of the baseball game. So mad shout to the AP for their great recaps.

Pistons 105, Celtics 95: Without the services of the injured Hall of Famer Allen Iverson, Detroit went onto Boston’s home floor and became the first team in the lEastern conference to win at Banknorth Arena. Richard Hamilton had 25 points and Tayshaun Prince added 15. Paul Pierced had 26 points in the losing effort.

Cavaliers 88, Hawks 87: David Stern’s mandate to the refs to not let LeBron get embarrassed again on national television did not go unheeded as Cleveland was able to pull it out with the help of three phantom 4th quarter fouls including one with 1.6 seconds left. Of course the Icon only hit 1 of 2, but in the end the Cavs still pulled it out as Joe Johnson bricked a wide open jumper at the buzzer.

Raptors 98, Mavericks 109: Jason Kidd became the 4th member of the 10,000 career assists club, joining John Stockton, Mark Jackson, and Magic Johnson. Dirk had yet another double-double. Chris Bosh went for 28 and 10 boards in his hometown.

Lakers 111, Suns 118: Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol combined for 79 points and 54% shooting from the floor and 100% shooting from the line, but it still wasn’t enough against the rejuvenated Suns. If Kobe’s going to win yet another championship, he’s really going to have to light a fire under his weak supporting cast.Shaq had 33 points, giving him consecutive 30 point games for the first time since 2004. When asked about this achievement, The Big Tweeter said:

“It’s what I do. I’ve been doing it since 1992. If you don’t believe it, Google me.”

I went ahead and googled it, and unfortunately Google’s archives only go back to 1998, so I was unable to verify.

Jazz 112, Warriors 104: Utah won their 8th straight game taking them to 14 games over .500 and still only hold the 7 spot in the current playoff standings. Wow, the West is best. Although, if you had a playoffs with only teams with losing records, I think the Eastern conference would wreck shopfo’ sho. That’s statistical science.

Accenture Match Play Championship: Some guy named Jeff Ogoolsby won. He was wearing some sweet Puma threads. I’m fully expecting ratings to be low because Eldrick didn’t play.

Penn State 0, Texas 9: Sophomore Brandon Workman pitched a no-hitter as the Longhorns completed the sweep over the Nittany Lions, outscoring them 25-4 over the four game series. Fetchie, was Penn State supposed to be any good?
