As if things in Baltimore weren’t bad enough, FTH is up with their hats? This one, this one and this one all have one small, but glaring spelling error. Namely, there is no apostrophe in Orioles. They’re not saying “This is the Orioles’ hat.” And notice that if they were, the apostrophe would be after the s. But how gay would a hat that said Os’ look. I guess grammatically, no worse than one that says O’s does.
But before the 7 Orioles fans on Earth get bent out of shape, you’re not alone. I know possessive and plural both start with the letter p, but they’re not that similar. Clean it up Baltimore and Oakland.

Government = gov’t
The apostrophe takes the place of the ernmen in Government
Athletics = A’s the apostrophe takes the place of thletic in Athletics
Orioles = O’s the apostrophe takes the pace of riole in Orioles
So this is not a case of pluralization being made possessive it is meant to show omission
