In today’s situation, Randy Johnson is on the hill and Adrian Gonzalez is at the plate. On first for the Padres is Brian Giles. As Johnson is coming set, he notices Giles getting a big lead. Without stopping, Johnson steps with his right foot and picks Giles off. Is this a legal play, or a balk? Why or why not?
