So the Tribe signed Carl Pavano today.
My initial reaction was, “why fucking waste the money you dumb fucks? Fucking get a right handed bat not named Ryan Garko,” but it softened after a little reflection. Yes, Carl Pavano hasn’t pitched in seemingly decades while making more money than I can comprehend doing jack shit, but he WAS really good at one point, I think in 2004 but it could’ve been the Jurassic Period, so I remain optimistic. It was a one-year deal worth some figure that’s also really high and has a bunch of escalator clauses which can make it go from some large figure to an even larger figure.
All in all, a pretty basic low/mid-market team’s move to shore up a shaky rotation.
But I remain somewhat excited…because New York, and more specifically, New Yorkers are the scum of the earth, except for Roman who won’t get thrown away with the rest of the trash until he gives me my award. The pressure must have been intense for a fanbase with ridiculous expectations that have no shot at ever being met. So what’s the remedy for that? Come to Cleveland where we only care about our shitty Browns and LeBron!
Hell, we have Grady fucking Sizemore and all you fucking hear about is how shitty of an NFL owner Randy Lerner is and how much the Browns suck. What better place to toil away in obscurity until the playoffs (every other year, remember?) where you’ll get a ton of press because of your story and have some team back up a dump truck full of skrilla to your door?
See…that’s what the Tribe does. We get players that people cast off and pair them with a bunch of talented young players who form some sort of really good baseball team and then we let them leave for tons of cash while they leave most of their production here in Cleveland. Why would I be pissed? This is about as low risk as it gets!
So…in summary…fuck New Yorkers. Especially Roman.

I’m watching a little Hermantown v. Duluth Marshall and both these teams are terrible. And Hermantown is the 3rd ranked team in class A. Maybe North Dakota isn’t as far behind as everyone thinks.
Ummm….it’s class A hockey. Unless it’s one of the local private schools or Warrroad, it’s not great. If a kid is any good in the Hermantown area, they goto Duluth East. If a kid is good in the Duluth area, they goto Duluth East.

Nope, Roseau is in AA. They optioned up. Got tired of always playing Warroad for the division.

What Roseau is AA? Well that’s my bad. Red River usually does well against Warroad and Roseau and North and South usually beat/play well against Moorhead so that’s what I’m mostly basing this on.
I’ll take your word on it. I’m pretty metro (and therefore AA) centric on high school hockey. And I always get to see my old high school go against Hill Murray in the section finals.
