It is snowy to day in NYC. People are panicked.
I am winding up a week here at work and I am clicking around the old internet. As I am hitting all my regular work hot spots (the home ones are a little more PG13) I land on the NY Post. Needless to say, this may be the most misleading headline in the history of ever. For those of you who can’t open the link it says “Massive Snow Storm Pummels New York”. Here is a little more on the Pummeling:
A heavy snow storm pounded New York today and is dropping a heavy mix of snow, sleet and rain on New Yorkers. Hundreds of flights were canceled in anticipation of the storm.
The National Weather Service predicted 3 to 5 inches of snow would accumulate throughout the day and warned drivers to be careful of slippery roads and freezing rains.
Quite the pummeling, huh? A little perspective. A major ice storm hit New Hampshire a week ago and people are still without heat and power. Stigs complains about the nuisance of the 4 inches of snow he gets daily. Just a thought, instead of treating every snow event (I love that new meteorological term) like Hurricane Katrina, how about reporting this as it is. Snow during Friday rush hour. If your flying you are inconvenienced. The end. Below is a little imagery I equate to the pummeling.

Epilogue: As I was putting the finshing touches on this epic post, My boss told me that if we are done working we can go home. The reason, the snow storm. I love New York.

We’re leaving at 2:30. There goes the overtime I worked this week!
yes, no, absolutely
Snow?
In the cat imagery, is the cat the snow? Or is the yarn the snow? And if the cat is the snow, should I get a shovel and hit it about the head repeatedly? And if not, why?
/I’ll hang up and listen to your answers
I really hate the jump.
Sincerely,
This Post
Hef–The cat is the snow and the yarn is the yellow snow…you choose which one to eat.
school was canceled here in jersey. it didn’t start snowing until 11:30. this was nothing when i lived in Michigan. they could have got at least a half day in. in the words of RWH: futher proof of the pussification of america.
Snow? The only snow I know are white girls and cocaine baby. Its 70 in Tampa.
I will be leaving work early today in order to avoid our Christmas Party.
days like today, i still wish I was pushing the Range Rover. that thing could drive through anything.
that snow was bad ass on Tuesday. i wasn’t complaining about the snow, just the fact that my driving abilities were not up to par that night. i like the snow. the more the better. i’m a fan of the 12″ we just got.
/denial’d
you had a rover stigs? what year?
96′… black on black. it was pretty tight. kept breaking alternator belts, and got about 12 miles to the gallons. so i got rid of it last year, before winter.
My extreme vehicle is aweful in snow. now i know why you never see a nissan xterra driving through snow on the commercials. it would just slide all over the place and not be a very good commercial.
An Xterra, PKI? You’re a lesbian?
damn, stigs. was it pretty tough letting go of it? I’ve ALWAYS wanted a Range Rover, and of the ones made before about 2000.
everytime it rains in southern californai…even if its a half an inch…we get
STORMWATCH 2008!!!!
An Xterra, PKI? You’re a lesbian?
I just spit out my D.C., clown. Good thing I’m solo at the office right now.
Our schools don’t close unless the wind chill dips to zippo. Snow doesn’t stop us on Lake Erie.
The meteorologists are getting gheyer by the day. They are as bad as the regular newscasters with their ghey story leads that amount to the most worthless news.
RWH-you gotta love Mr. G?!
Buffalo and the surrounding area gets a decent amount of snow but we rarely get shutdown.
Anyone else in B-lo for the October storm in 06? That was some crazy shit.
Yes I am a lesbian. You should see me driving this thing. I make sure to pound a moutain dew and yell things at drivers.
miz, it was pretty hard to part with. i kinda wish i kept it for the winter. but it kinda sucked in the summer. i loved Rovers. then i got one, and it wasn’t all that comfortable or fun to drive surprisingly. the one time i took it on a real off road track was completely worth all the problems i had with it though. it was like being on a roller coaster, except without all the safety harnesses and shit. it was really awesome.
i probably would never get one again. especially now that they’re owned by Ford.
that’s why I want an older one, stigs. I love the old RR County models.
mine was a County. i fucked up the year though, it was 95 not 96. It was the last year they made the County. I think they made the County and the SE models in 1995. It is just like Dennis’ from Sunny, if you watch that show.
Wow, I thought Hef was a big fan, but Stigs takes it to a whole nother level.
3-5 inches is a pummling? Up here, that’s a flurry.
never seen the show, stigs, but a black-on-black RR County sounds pretty solid to me.
Wow, I thought Hef was a big fan, but Stigs takes it to a whole nother level.
Nahhh not really. Think of your very first car. If you saw it on a show that you’d like you’d remember it.
I wish a character on any of the shows I watch would drive a ‘92 Lincoln Continental. Man, what a first ride… good times.
You guys are pussies for thinking that’s a lot of snow. I just drove 3.5 hours in pounding snow.
I just pounded your mom for 3.5 hours.
/your mom’d
+1, phat
Um, my mom is dead.
Pussies!
Signed,
Hef in PHX
Wow, I didn’t know that.
