Kansas is doing the things that help you go far in the tourney-forcing turnovers and making free throws. The Jayhawks scored 31 points off 20 Kent State turnovers, and Kansas was 32-36 on free throws.
The stars for the Jayhawks were of course Sherron Collins and Cole Aldrich. Collins had a game high 19 points, and Aldrich had 10, 13 and 4 blocks. It was his 3rd double double and his 3rd with at least 3 blocks.
As far as the youngsters go, Tyshawn Taylor had another good game, with 12 points, including 2-2 from three, all while playing ball-hawking defense, which included 3 steals. He also had just 1 turnover in 35 minutes.
Next up for the champs is New Mexico State on Wednesday.
