beanie-michiganI’m going to keep this brief…Saturday’s game scares the shit out of me, more than the USC and National Championship games combined.

It all started at the beginning of last year’s college football season when Michigan lost to Appalachian State…all of the sudden, anyone could lose at any time no matter the opponent or venue.  I mean, this was the case all along, but come on, did you really think that Appy State had a snowball’s chance in hell against the no. 5 Wolverines in the Big House?  Hell no.  Now, it doesn’t matter how bad a team is because that vision is still extremely clear in my memory.

There is a recent precedent for a matchup like this from last year’s Notre Dame vs. USC game.  Michigan’s collapse this year has almost mirrored the downfall of Notre Dame’s last year, down to the roster turnover and lack of senior leadership, only ND wasn’t installing an square peg offense to fit their round hole personnel.  USC pummeled ND last year, so why am I nervous when the gap between Ohio State and Michigan is pretty wide itself?

Because I still remember Appy State.

As an OSU fan, I know embarassment.  Yes, the last three very high profile were awful, but IF Ohio State loses to Michigan Saturday, it’d be far worse than any of those.  Just thinking about it makes me sick to my stomach.

On paper, it’s not close.  Every objective bone in my body tells me that it’s going to be a vintage Ohio State game where Beanie and Pryor rack up yards on the ground, minimal passing outside of a play action bomb and sheer domination of the time of possession.  I couldn’t imagine OSU’s D giving up much to an offense that either lost or failed to gain a single yard on close to 40% of their snaps, that just doesn’t make sense.

So why am I nervous?  Just because of that slim possibility that OSU’s spread-retarded D gets torn apart and Michigan’s defense plays out of their skull.  I gotta stop thinking these thoughts, I’m just killing myself here.

Anyways, prediction time…

The weather is probably going to suck balls so I don’t see much happening via the air so that sets up well for OSU.  I think it’s going to be closer than you’d think just because this is Michigan’s entire season and they’re going to be amped up and ready to go.  I think that Michigan hangs around for about a quarter and a half, but just can’t sustain it.  The fact that Sam McGuffie’s status is up in the air and Threet is probably not going to play bodes well, but I’m not entirely confident.

Plus, a 20.5 point spread?  Damn that’s huge.  Tressel doesn’t do that shit and run up the score like douchebag Urban Meyer and non-douchebag Pete Carroll so I doubt it’s going to get that out of control as the Vest will probably just run ISO after dive after draw until the clock runs out, so, even though it pains me to say, I’d take Michigan if you’re a betting man.

Go Bucks…beat Michigan.

PS…this probably read like shit by my head is all fucked up and I’m sick as shit, so…sorry, I guess.
