Kansas is a young and talented team, but absolutely giving away a game like this is simultaneously something that cannot happen and might be a good thing.
Kansas held the lead at the half even though they weren’t playing very well, but Jim Boeheim’s decision to swtich from zone to man-to-man proved to be a good one. Leading the way for the Orange was Johnny Flynn who had 25 pts, and also made the three to send the game into OT.
Kansas was led once again by Sherron Collins who had 21 points, but the biggest positive was the coming out party of Tyshawn Taylor. Wearing the best number on the planet, Taylor shot 8-13 from the floor for 17 points, and also had 4 boards and 4 assists while playing very good defense. Two Jayhawks had double doubles, as Marcus Morris had 11 and 10, and Cole Aldrich had another fantastic game, with 15 and 14. Both players chipped in 2 blocks.
Kansas had some problems on the boards. Even though they outrebounded Syracuse they let a couple easy ones out of their grasp for easy putbacks for the Orange.
If Kansas can’t start making jumpshots it’s going to be a long year in Lawrence. With this loss the Jayhawks might drop out of the rankings, but they’ll be back soon, especially as their youngsters learn the ropes.

you can’t even find a picture from the right game. ugh!!!
