To the University of Kansas soccer team, which had one of its most successful seasons ever ended today by #3 Stanford in the second round of the NCAA Tournament by a score of 5-0. Kansas previously had upset Denver in the first round of the tourney. This was the first time since 2004 in which Kansas won more than 12 games, and it was their first NCAA Tournament win since that year.

The Jayhawks were co-led by Shannon McCabe and Monica Dolinsky’s 9 goals each. Dolinsky was also named first team all Big12. Freshman Emily Cressy had 8 goals and 3 assists, and was the Big 12 rookie of the year. She also had this nice story written about her on ESPN.com back in September.

The Jayhawks had a fairly young team this year and should come back strong next year.

Major League Jerk would also like to give a shoutout to Minnesota ice hockey goalie Alex Kangas, who stopped 38 shots this afternoon for his first career shutout.

Under The Lights should follow in an hour or so, save all your gay comments for that post.
