chad-johnson-763568So the Bengals have suspended Ocho Cinco for tonights mostly nationally televised game against the Stillers.   The timing of this is questionable, if only because Big 8-5 did an interview touting this game prior to the Bengals game against Philly.  At least he and the Bengals PR dept weren’t looking ahead.

What I’m wondering is this:  Was his breaking of an unspecified team rule so heinous that Bengals coaches and their GM/Owner felt it warrants giving 80% of their rare national coverage over to talk of all things Chad?  On the flip side, is that what the Bengals want?  To further help Chad shame himself in an attempt to devalue him even more than he’s done for himself?  Or is this a way for the Bengals PR “machine” to shift focus from how shitty their team, coach, and GM/Owner truly are?  And finally, is the blow cushioned for Bengals crucification via tonight’s announcing team because it’s being broadcast by the NFL Network?  I’m going with “all of the above”.

Look… either he punched Marvin Lewis in the throat again, or he stayed out too late drinking Yuengling and pounding sammiches at Primanti Bros., but is it worth the non-stop blathering that will occur every single time Fitzpatrick throws the ball?  Besides, the odds that now number two wideout Chris Henry gets arrested between now and the kick is something like 3:1.  Risky play, Bengals.  Risky play…

P.S. – Whatever the case, the Bengals organization, as a whole, is truly fucked tonight.  The NFL Network audio coverage is so bad that we’ll hear little of the actual game sound and crowd noise, leaving nothing but the pure clarity that will be two guys sitting in front of microphones trashing the team in the tiger-striped helmets.
