Well, well well. We have had a tremendous day here at the site. A Ghost from the past dropped by to give us some statistical analysis. Spencer had an epic breakdown over losing a guy named Beanie. Fetch gave us a book report on Michael Lewis’s latest effort in Vanity Fair. (He LOVES it!) Gonzo stalked some chick who wears a fake unibrow on a TV show the 70% of the Jerks rave about. If it was a real unibrow, I would join Gonzo is his unrequited lust. Nick’s friend’s former teammate made his major league debut last night and was the tits. Oh and clown mailed it in with a funny video. So tonight with all of the silliness settled, I will chillax with a glass of 2005 Sabastiani Cabernet Sauvignon and turn on the old MLB.tv Mosaic and talk to you as we watch the following (and hopefully not piss out my ass):

Brewers/Phillies - This is the start of a pivotal 4 game series between two teams battling for playoff spots. For the Brewers, winning secures their status as the Wild Card team and gives them and outside shot to catch up to the Cubs in the NL Central. For the Phillies, winning means keeping up or catching up to the Mets in the East and catching up to the Brewers for the Wild Card as they are 4 games back. Losing for the Phillies could be devastating as it takes away a safety valve in the Wild Card and the Mets are facing the Braves who are tossing out Mike Hampton, Jo Jo Reyes and Jorge Campillo this weekend. Ben Sheets will give his best five innings against Jamie Moyer who will give you a solid six.

Cubs/Cardinals – The Cubbies are hoping to win a series in St. Louis and keep their heads above water and smooth their way into the playoffs. MVP favorite Albert Pujols and Roman Fantasy Baseball Team MVP Ryan Ludwick hope to keep the Cards firmly entrenched in the Wild Card race in which they are 4.5 back. Rich Harden will give a solid 5 innings as Todd Wellemeyer hopes to continue not sucking.

Pirates/Astros – The Astros, led by MVP candidate Lance Berkman, have been storming towards a Wild Card spot as the Brewers have stumbled all over themselves. They find themselves only 4 back and are rooting for the Phillies to do some damage this weekend. They first have to finish up a four game sweep against the Pirates who have nothing left. Zach Duke will give up 7 runs tonight as Roy Oswalt will own this AA lineup.

Blue Jays/White Sox - The Blue Jays finally hit a bump in the road last night and lost as the White Sox stopped the bleeding. With the Twins losing 3-2 this afternoon to the Royals, the White Sox are hoping to go back to two up in the AL Central. Their hope is that Gavin Floyd (the only MLB related thing Jason McIntyre ever got right and will constantly remind you about. How’s the Willie firing looking now, Jason?) faces the tough Shaun Marcum in the last game of a 4 game set in Chicago.
