Making outs is bad, and giving a lot of plate appearances to people that make a lot of outs is a sign of a bad

organization. Let’s look at the players with the worst OBPs (minimum 300 PAs) in the league and the teams they play for:

1. Corey Patterson, Reds (.237)

2. Kenji Johjima, Mariners (.259)

3. Khalil Greene, Padres (.260)

4. Jose Vidro, Mariners (.274)

5. Michael Bourn, Astros (.285)

Corey Patterson is in his own world of suck. He is not a professional baseball player and should have been DFA’d months ago. That he is still on the roster (and leading off!) is a clear sign that the Reds have no clue what they’re doing.

Seeing two Mariners on this list, it should come as no surprise that they’re dead last in the AL West. Another organization that remains clueless. I can’t wait to see who they select as their new GM. At least they did finally show some sense by getting rid of Jose Vidro. Of course they also gave Johjima a gigantic extension.

That’s a depressing list. I need the NBA to get here soon.
