Reuniting with Brian Schneider will totally get Luis Ayala's season back on track . /sincere

It’s Sunday. If this happened on Tuesday, I would not be writing this. The Mets traded with the Washington Nationals to get get Luis Ayala for a player to be named later . It is a good move. Ayala has sucked this year but he does have past success as a major league reliever. The player to be named is expected to be light hitting, good fielding infielder Anderson Hernandez who at one point looked to have a future with the Mets but has fallen low on the organizational depth chart. With, Billy Wagner not coming off the DL Monday (he was sore after yesterday’s simulated game) and Eddie Kunz not getting the confidence of Jerry Manuel (he had a minor implosion last night with a 7-1 lead in the ninth.) this give the Mets a big league arm that they can use and hope doesn’t totally shit the bed like the rest of the guys. Ayala throws strikes and had a 2.82 ERA career ERA coming into this season. He has a 5.77 ERA this year. Maybe a change of scenery helps. Relief pitching is so random, I am willing to give it a shot. The Mets will have to send someone down tomorrow to make room for Ayala and I am assuming it is Kunz considering Manuel has barely used him since he has been here and it is not good for his development to keep him up here for nothing. Brian Stokes has been great so far so I don’t want him sent anywhere.
