Bill Bavasi Hired By The Reds…AYFKM??????????

Who are the ad wizards who came up with this one? I thought it was hilarious when the Mets hired terrible former Reds GM Wayne Krivksy. Laughing at other’s misfortune is a pastime of mine. But Bill Bavasi? Outside of Brian Sabean, Bavasi has been unquestionably the worst GM in recent memory. He destroyed the Seattle Mariners, and that is why he’s now FORMER GM Bill Bavasi. Bavasi will likely have a very limited role in the Reds future and probably won’t do too much damage, but it’s hirings like this that higlight a string of terrible roster and management decisions. I have no confidence the Reds will ever again have a winning franchise. The guys at the top are just too completely clueless.

And while I’m on a semi-rant, I have to say the Good Ol’ Boys’ Network in MLB needs to end. Now. The fact that these retread GMs and managers continue to find work after doing so terribly at their previous jobs drives me insane. How much success do out-of-the-box thinkers like Billy Beane, Paul Depodesta, and Mark Shapiro have to have before ownership groups expand their horizons and stop limiting themselves to such a dogshit candidate group?
