For those of you who haven’t had the privilege of seeing Ken Burns’ amazing documentary Baseball, you are doing yourself a grand disservice. Easily one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen, he hits every note and tells an amazing story through the images and interviews he conducts with baseball players, analysts and fans. To whet your appetite, here’s the first 10 minutes of the first disc (there are nine).

Jesus Hef you must be hung over…the first 10 minutes of a video…I feel like this is the last day before vacation in elementary school and the teacher put on a video to shut up the class for 40 minutes
/I own the Baseball DVD boxed set…I got it for $100 it is a worth while investment
i remember anticipating this when it originally aired on PBS. really is a great doc.
Get a late Father’s Day gift, Hef?
My wife bought me the box set five years ago and my son and I are going through it. He likes learning about history.
And yes, Hef has a bit of a hangover. Let’s stop talking so loud. Besides, it’s Friday and no one is here anyway.
boobs over at TBL.
Some of us are. In body at least. My mind is out in the nice sunny day up here.
Jackie Robinson was out at home. Yogi totally tagged him.
@hef…Yogi is going to his grave with that too. he is still pissed about it.
He’s got a legitimate beef. The ump was out of position and Yogi had his glove down.
I agree with Costas… I love how baseball allows for casual conversation and discussion throughout the whole game.
Often when I’m watching basketball, I can’t take it when I have to listen to two play-by-plays: the guy on TV and my buddy next to me. With baseball, you got time for both :)
